'Eclectic Synergy' is closing next Thursday. The gallery is closed on Saturday for Anzac Day, and doesn't reopen till Wednesday. So that only leaves Friday (tomorrow) and Wednesday 30th.
The gallery is at 64 Parkers Road, Parkdale and open 9 to 5 on both those days.
And if you are interested in purchasing anything there’s a little  office there and the girls will help you out. Just knock. They're really lovely.

Limited editions prints are available for all the works as well as the originals being available.

I'm in the NGV Collection!

Today I had the most astounding news!! Yesterday I received an email from the NGV saying that they were digitising their catalogue and needed me to sign something for my work in their collection????? I have no work in their collection…or am I so vague that I forgot? So I called and told them sadly I thought they had the wrong person. They called me back today and apparently I do!!! It’s an illustration from a book I illustrated called, ‘A True Person’. Albert Ullin, a wonderful man with a passion for kid’s literature, bought it years ago as part of his fantastic collection of book illustrations, and about a year ago the NGV acquired the collection. At the time I thought it was simply amazing enough to be part of a collection with some outstanding children’s book illustrators, but to find out I’m now in the NGV collection is beyond fabulous! So a huge thanks Albert. And thanks also to Jacqueline Taylorfor introducing my work to Albert.
I don't have an image of the illustration at the moment, but this is the cover of the book.

You can hear the interview I did on Joy fm last week via a podcast on http://joy.org.au/sundayarts/

Also tomorrow morning at 10.20 (although it's live radio so anything can happen) I'll be interviewed on 3MBS (103.5 fm) about the exhibition Eclectic Synergy.

And then I'm hopping over to the other side of the mike and you'll hear me interviewing Dr Mae Anna Pang about the exhibition A Golden Age of China on at the NGV Australia.

I went to the opening of the John Wolsey exhibition at the NGV
last night with my lovely daughter Danni.

It was a great exhibition and it's inspired me to stick lots of watercolour paper together and explore.
Interestingly enough the artist didn't speak even though he was at the opening. i found that unusual.

Here's a little info from the NVG website about the exhibition .

Over the past four years John Wolseley has explored the wetlands of Australia in a major series of new works commissioned by Sir Roderick Carnegie. In this series of monumentally-scaled works on paper, which will be launched at the NGV in April 2015, the artist celebrates the variety and unique nature of water forms in Australia. The mangrove swamps in Roebuck Bay (W.A.), the flood plains of Garanalli in the Northern Territory, the Finke River in the Simpson Desert and the sphagnum swamps of Skullbone Plains in Tasmania are just some of the sites detailed in these impressive works. The different geographical features and unique plant and animal forms of these wetlands are depicted in the finely worked drawing and rich watercolour washes that characterise Wolseley’s work. Many also combine collage elements and markings made “in collaboration” with the natural environment. Through this way of working, which includes burying works and drawing with carbonized wood found in the bush, the artist subverts traditional approaches to the depiction of landscape. These works celebrate the beauty of the Australian wilderness and encourage an understanding of the significance and environmental fragility of these remote and little-known sites.

exhibition opening...more photos

A few more photos taken at my exhibition opening by my friend Danny. I love the shot of him in front of the painting Trinity Arcade....loks like he's there.

Thanks everyone

Thanks so much to everyone who came last night. It was a wonderful celebration of a couple of years of work. And also lovely for people who have seen the works being created along the way via Facebook and in the studio to see the finished pieces in such a beautiful gallery space. G3 Artspace
The exhibition is on till the end of April, 64 Parkers Rd, Parkdale. And there's a great little cafe opposite as well.
Here are a few photos from towards the end of the evening and I'll have more coming as well.
