Outstanding Women Artists

Thanks to all my wonderful friends who came to the opening of the exhibition last night. And I was so thrilled to be hanging with such wonderful artists...their work is amazing. I have some portraits hanging, but the other artists are showing different works and styles - and they are amazing. The exhibtion is on till June 26 at Media House Gallery (the Age building), Monday to Friday 7am to 7pm (closed weekends).

inspiration

Some possible inspirations for a portrait from my visit to the High Art Museum in Atlanta. There was a room with different mirrors that created some wonderful distortions. The one where I'm standing, and other people are as well didn't photograph at all well....but it was a really interesting effect in real life. Some possibilities to explore in paint now. And it was great to be at the museum with people who had works hanging in it as well. I had the great fortune to sit next to Rhoda Sherbell  in the gallery as we talked art and bemoaned our sore feet.

 

 

These are demo paintings done by the amazing artists at the portrait conference in Atlanta. Some very talented and VERY brave artists demonstrating their work in front of a huge audience and in only a couple of hours. And many of them chatting and keeping us entertained along the way.
