I'm very excited about the opening tonight. It's so lovely having it in a local gallery in an area where I've spent the last 20 years (giving away my age?) watching my gorgeous children grow up.
And I've put special prices on the pieces to celebrate this. Plus there are limited edition prints available to be ordered at the gallery. (They're on beautiful archival quality museo portfolio rag and all signed and numbered).
Welcome to my blog. All my news, events and projects will be posted here. I hope you enjoy reading and please feel free to say hi at any stage.

This is the start of a self portrait of myself floating underwater in my art studio (a little weird I know). I had great fun getting the reference with the help of my wonderful son Jake We went to the pool of a friend of Jake's and both dove underwater to get the photos. It was a little hit and miss in the process. We worked out in hindsight that goggles would have been handy for Jake to have to see underwater. And thanks to my daughter Danni for letting me borrow her dress under water. Although I consider it payback for all the times she's borrowed my clothes.

I had the privilege of interviewing David Hurlston and Susan Van Wyk from the National Gallery of Victoria last Friday.
David is the curator for an exhibition on that the moment called Shifting Gears. The exhibition looks at cars over the last century as an object of design. I know nothing about cars, but I was given a personal tour of the exhibition by David, and now I know a little bit more. It was fascinating.

Susan is the curator for an exhibition opening April 25th called Follow the Flag
Australian Artists at War 1914–45.
This exhibition shows the work the work of Australian artists who drew on their experiences of war between 1914 and 1945. There were some extremely poignant stories connected to some of the art works.
Both interviews are for Arts Weekly, on 3MBS (103,5 fm) which runs from 10am to 11am.

ECCLECTIC SYNERGY’
‘Ecclectic Synergy’
explores what makes us human….is it our physical form,
our emotions, our achievements? We spend so much time striving and creating
monumental structures to validate our humanity, which are often truly
beautiful, and certainly worthy and remarkable shows of ingenuity. But
sometimes it’s just a moment of simple reflection, when
we have no greater aspiration than to simply be, that we are at our most
connected.
“I try to capture a simple honesty
within a subject. People change and evolve throughout their lives – behaviours,
interests, and priorities – the essence of whom we are never changes, however,
and that’s what I love to portray.”
